Sarah first discovered her love for fitness as a middle school athlete when the high school football coach and a fellow softball teammate encouraged her to join an after-school weight training program. From that experience she learned how to properly weight train and she also saw first-hand how it greatly improved her performance on the playing field. As one of the only girls in the weight room, surrounded mainly by football players, she knew early on that she wanted to make other girls and women feel comfortable weight training. By her senior year she decided that she wanted to a personal trainer – her goal being to help her clients build strength, confidence, manage their weight and improve body image.
Sarah has been teaching group fitness and personal training for more than 16 years. She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise Science, as well as a coaching degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She is also a nationally certified personal trainer with NETA and ACE. In 2005, she completed the 235 hour Devandi yoga teacher training which she believes enhances and complements her strength training background.
In her personal life, Sarah enjoys coaching her sons’ baseball and soccer teams, cooking plant-based meals, traveling to Northern Minnesota to see family and being active outdoors regardless of the weather.
